Our Work: Zanzibar

Built With the Community, For the Community.

At Bloom Together Collective, we work alongside our partners in Zanzibar to create sustainable clean water systems tailored to each community’s unique needs. These projects deliver water straight into homes and community tap stands — removing the need for long, daily walks and making clean, safe water a part of everyday life.

Led by trained local teams and built with active community involvement, every project is shaped by the voices and priorities of those it serves. This approach ensures solutions are lasting and truly meet the needs of women, children, and families — improving health, saving time, and creating real, lasting change.

These projects transform lives, one drop at a time.

Access to safe, reliable water is the foundation for blooming communities.

More than 1,000 people now have clean, running water in their homes or just steps away — a powerful shift made possible through our community-led water projects in Zanzibar.

These changes ripple outward: families are healthier, children stay in school, and women gain the time and freedom to pursue education and economic opportunities.

With each new project, we move closer to a future where every household in Zanzibar has direct access to safe, reliable water.

Our Process

Engineered For Impact. Made to Last. Shaped By the People It's Meant to Serve.

Our clean water systems are developed through deep collaboration with local community leaders and engineers — combining technical expertise with lived experience. From community taps to direct household connections, every step is designed to meet real needs, strengthen local capacity, and ensure safe, lasting access to water for years to come.

What Powers Every Project?

Our clean water systems are built with the community — not just for it.

From day one, we listen deeply to local voices to understand each village’s specific needs, then collaborate with community members every step of the way to bring the project to life.

Each system includes hands-on training and education, along with the formation of a Community Water Committee — a local team responsible for ongoing maintenance, access, and long-term sustainability.

Because real change doesn’t end with installation — it continues through the power of local leadership.
