Maria Bosque-Blanco

Secretary

For over 30 years, Ms. Blanco has served students and school communities with her expertise as a certified school psychologist. Originally appointed as a School Board Member for Miami Dade County Public Schools in 2023, she was elected to the position in November 2024. In addition to serving on the School Board, she works as a school counselor at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and is a Trustee with Miami Dade College. She is passionate about education and as the daughter of Cuban immigrants she understands the value of providing students with the skills necessary to forge a new path.

Ms. Blanco is committed to helping students reach their full academic potential, while helping to foster their emotional and mental well-being. As a school board member she has been committed to the safety and learning of students. As a guidance counselor, she has assisted students as they transition from middle school to high school and to postsecondary education. She also served as a school psychologist for over 15 years by working to identify children with disabilities and collaborated with schools and parents to ensure these children received an appropriate education. Ms. Blanco is an active member of St. Timothy Catholic Church and several of its ministries.

 

Ms. Blanco received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s and Specialist Degree in School Psychology from Barry University. She is a devoted wife and mother to three wonderful children.
